Interview with Erica Neely
Erica Neely blames Mike Richards for getting her into filk. Mike gave glowing reports about his first filk convention (Transept) and showed her songbooks and tapes he had picked up at the convention. The two decided to try their hand at songwriting, then attended Obliter-8 (UK convention). "They haven't been able to get rid of me since," says Erica.
Interview with Bob Kanefsky
An alphabetical interview with the well-known filk parodist, by
Rand Bellavia of Ookla The Mok.
Steve Macdonald and WorlDream
In 2001, Steve attended every filk convention around the world. Find out
how he did it...and why!
Interview with Clif Flynt
Best known for his songs Ian The Grim and
Unreality Warp, Clif has been filking for many years.
I blame Clif for being one of the main person responsible for
luring me into the filk community. :-)
Interview with Lee Gold
Lee Gold is the editor of Xenofilkia, a bimonthly filk fanzine started in October, 1988. Each issue contains approximately 20 pages of filk songs. Her History of Filk essay is a well-known reference text in the filk community. Lee lives in L.A. with her husband Barry.
Interview with Carla Ulbrich
Carla had been performing for six years, and was introduced to
filk conventions by a musician friend. GAfilk in 2001 was her
first filk convention, Consonance was her second.
"I think filk rules," says Carla. "I think of it as the 'real' folk music, where everyone is included and songs go through a process of
change everytime they are sung by another person. I love the atmosphere of acceptance and I especially
appreciate the level of intelligence."

Interview with Jeff Bohnhoff
Jeff and Maya Bohnhoff are well-known filkers on
the West coast, and have two CDs available: "Manhattan
Sleeps" and "Retro Rocket Science". I had interviewed
Maya (who is a professional sf author) for Inkspot
a while back. Jeff doesn't sing with the group, but
is a prolific songwriter, an amazing guitarist,
and all-round nice guy.
The list of filker online journals has
moved
(it was too much of a pain for me to keep two lists updated).
