Isis

In a filk context, that's the first name of She Who Has Many Names, So Many That They Fill Up An Entire Chorus.

The parody I've written that is closest to that subject is “The Moon Is Also a Satellite” , which features the Generic Earth Mother, but is really about hypocritical technophobes who think that any new technology is incompatible with environmentalism but have no problem with comfortable old technologies they grew up with, like automobiles. The song still seems just as relevant today, but when I wrote it in 1989 I was probably thinking of computers as the typical high technology that my nature-loving friends were afraid of. Strange to think that most of them probably own computers by now.
