In which Bill launches a new (hopefully more regular) series of columns and trolls for topics. Yep, it's been a long time since I put fingers to keyboard for a Dandelion Report column. I think my mistake was trying to stick to a specific day for the columns to appear. I didn't have much incentive to come up with column fill during the week, and by Sunday afternoon (my self-imposed publish day) I was either so busy or so tired that the column was the last thing on my mind. So, the first thing to go will be the arbitrary new column day. I'll write when I feel like it. Nyah. Now that Debbie has got us rolling in Movable Type (yay Debbie!), there are also some options available that we didn't have before. One of the coolest of these is that I can assign a "Category" to the matter that ends up under this thing called Another QuarterNote Heard From. The categories I've come up with to start are: COLUMN: A real, researched, thought out (HA) and prepared piece. If you want to just see "traditional" (hey, we did it more than 3 times!) Another QuarterNote Heard From material, this is the filter category to use. BABBLING: Hey, it's a weblog, right? When I have something to log, I'll stick it under this category. This will be general life stuff as well as filk stuff and will be more personal to me rather than to filk in general. If you don't give a rodent's disgusting body part for my personal life, skip this one. CORRECTION: Yes, I make mistakes. Usually whoppers. When I mess up, I'll fix the original column and I will also post a correction. That way, everyone can see that I screwed the pooch and laugh at me and make comments behind my back and conspire against me.
Hi. For the rundown on the original purpose of this mishmosh, check out the original introductory column. Here is the last of the "old-style" columns with links to the archive of old stuff. You with me now? Good. Which brings us to the traditional "your part". I'd really, really like to hear your suggestions on topics I should cover. I have my own list, some of which are instructional and some of which are opportunities for me to curmudge and grump. New fodder is not only welcome, it is encouraged. Feel free to post a comment or email me directly with any subject you think I can Hope to see you back here soon! Posted by BillSutton at 11:30 AM | Comments (73) |
