Scrivener released!

Literary feast

For Mac users: Woohoo, the official release version of Scrivener is now shipping! I've been trying out the Beta version for the past week and loving it. There are a number of different ways of using this software to work on writing projects, including nonfiction, screenwriting, and novel-writing.

You can see some screenshots here and get more info and support in the user forums. I posted one question and got several replies within hours, including a reply from the author of Scrivener. I like the fact that the author has been getting plenty of feedback from beta testers along the way, making tweaks as a result but being careful not to turn Scrivener into bloatware (with too many bells and whistles).

So far, I'm finding Scrivener easy to use, and I especially like the corkboard interface. Once I start expanding my notecards into prose, I'll likely start using the Outline/Edit modes.

Anyway, you can download a 30-day trial version to try for free. Cost for a license: US$34.99. I'll post a more detailed review after I've had a chance to thoroughly test out the release version. So far, though, I'm pretty happy.
