Every Writer Announces New Payment for Writers

Cedar Rapids, IA ˆ May 25, 2004 ˆ Every Writer recently announced a 70%
increase in payment for contributing writers as part of their updated
version of the popular writing website. Other new features including Talk
Back and 1000 Words will also provide writers with more opportunities to
earn money for their work. The new features and higher pay rates are part of
site-wide changes recently made to Every Writer, based on visitor feedback
and increased sponsorship.

Every Writer originally launched in 2003 as a resource where writers can
find market information, articles on various genres, writing exercises and
tips. With a fresh new look for 2004, Every Writer has updated these popular
sections, and has added several new segments. "We've spent several months
compiling reader feedback and we've heavily researched what's already on the
Internet and in popular print publications. The result is a better version
of Every Writer, with a lot more opportunities for writers to make money,"
says Editor-in-Chief, Emily Bivens.

A few of the new segments at Every Writer include:
- Empowering Writers, where printable worksheets and checklists can be found
to help writers track submissions, write better query letters, or organize
their taxes.
- Writer's Spot, providing individual web pages to writers who want to
promote their freelance writing, books, or writing services to other writers.
- Talk Back, where published responses to monthly questions earn them $10.
- 1000 Words, a monthly contest that lets writers submit their starter
sentences based on a photo, with the top entry winning $25.

"Our mission has always been about making writers feel positive and
confident about being a writer. We feel the changes we're making do exactly
that, and we'll continue to change according to our viewers' needs," says
Bivens.
