Seeking Experienced Editor to edit an Instructional Manual (work from home)
This small fairly new company is seeking experienced editor with copywriting experience who can write in a conversational friendly tone & has experience editing manuals, how to books etc. We are NOT looking for they writing style of conservative, stuffy, prim or proper writers/editors. This e-book has certain casual lingo that needs to be maintained for the industry it caters to.
You are needed to edit an e-book for the following:
* Flow: We want the content edited to make sure the manual flows from subject to subject. Once again, we want that conversational style that's maintains that step-by-step instructional style that's easy for our customers to understand & follow
* We want the sections to be re-organized so they are in a logical order
* Make sure there isn't too much repetition throughout the manual
* You are checking for spelling and grammar
* Making sure the TOC is developed properly & you know how to create appendixes
* While editing, you input words or paragraphs that will sell other products & services we give you.
* Once you do the final edit in PDF format, you make sure that any hyper linked words are working
We are looking for an individual who can produce accurate results in a timely manner and who take great pride in the work they do. (In other words, I don’t want to be checking your work and finding mistakes!).
The following are DESIRABLE traits we are looking for:
* You are not offended by the adult industry. This is NOT erotica, this is a business instructional manual.
* You are friendly & not arrogant
* Good communication skills
* Easy to work with
* Great sense of humor
* Honest and dependable
* Works well with others
If we end up loving your work, we are looking for someone we can call upon whenever we have the need, as more e-books will be written in the future.
Please discuss with me how you feel about what I wrote above & provide me with your samples of instructional manuals & copywritten material you have edited.
I also need your hourly rate & then we will discuss a flat rate.
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my ad, I will only respond to people within our price range who actually read this ad & who's material resonates with me. It's amazing how many editors don't even read the ad they responded to & follow the simple instructions & then expect me to take them seriously.
All the best

Humor Writers Sought
Edgy, underground humor magazine for guys (national distribution) is now making commitments to writers to accept and pay for material for Issue #3.
The rates are modest for now due to the current growth stage (and our scrappy upstart status) so we're willing to consider paying for previously published material. You will retain all copyrights and reprint rights to your work. Plus, writers get national exposure in this glossy full-color, hip humor
magazine.
We consider almost any form, including prose up to 2000 words max.
(4 pages), short pieces like gags, charts, pranks, spoofs, poems, phone call transcripts, etc. Especially welcome are pieces in the vein of
National Lampoon or Spy Magazine, i.e. parody, satire, irony, goofs,
etc.
Will also accept one panel or multi panel cartoons.
Primarily seeking edgy, subversive humor geared towards a male
audience, i.e. South Park, Chappelle's Show, MAD TV, etc.
But definitely NO "Onion-type" news article parodies please.
Simply email your submissions, either in the body of the email
(preferred), or as an attachment. If we're interested in it, we'll
reply back to you about a reprint agreement.
Those ARE the submission guidelines. We don't currently require a signed release prior to submittals for consideration, so please don't email simply to
ask about submissions or to ask for permission. Just make it.
You can see sample content from Issue #1 online at www.ravenmagazine.com or order a discounted subscription there to get the entire issue mailed to you immediately if you decide that gives you an advantage.
Job location is anywhere
Compensation: Varies based on the submission format, length, etc. but generally $50-$150 per piece.
