Seeking humorous slogans from writers
Hi Debbie,
My company Ephemera, Inc. produces buttons, magnets and stickers. I
work with many freelance writers that come up with original slogans.
Below are my guidelines for slogan writing.
Feel free to share them with your readers.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Wistfully,
Ed Polish
Ephemera, Inc.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING SLOGANS TO EPHEMERA
Since 1980, Ephemera has been producing Novelty Buttons, Magnets, and
Stickers. You'll find our stuff in many cutting edge card & gift
shops, bookstores, music stores, gay & left wing shops, porno stores,
museum stores, etc. We’re looking for satirical slogans about pop
culture, politics & The President, job attitudes, women's & men’s
issues, coffee, booze, pot, drugs, religion, food, aging, teens, gays &
lesbians, sexual come-ons & put-downs. We especially like women’s
slogans that are funny in juxtaposition to retro graphics. But please
don't limit yourself to these topics, surprise us!
We're looking for fresh, interesting, ORIGINAL MATERIAL. Don’t waste
our time with old clichés or material that has been done before! BE
CONCISE. Our buttons and magnets are small, so we are looking for HIGH
IMPACT gems of wit stated in AS FEW WORDS AS POSSIBLE. Ephemera has a
reputation for coming up with the most irreverent, provocative and
outrageously funny material on the market. We encourage you to be as
weird, twisted or rude as you like. Remember, we want humor that makes
us laugh out loud!
PRESENTATION: Via email: Send to mail@ephemera-inc.com
It’s best to have the slogans in the body of the email instead of as an
attachment.
Via regular mail: Submit slogans as a typed list.
Send to EPHEMERA, Attn: Editor, PO Box 490, Phoenix, OREGON 97535
Please don’t waste trees by sending us stacks of cards. The less paper
the better!
INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE for our reply.
Submissions without a SASE might not be returned to you!
FEEDBACK: Expect our initial response within 1-5 months depending on
how backlogged we are. We’re always looking for fresh material. Before
we manufacture, we test-market the slogans we’re considering with some
of our buyers in stores around the country. If the buyers like your
slogans we will produce them and pay you UPON ACCEPTANCE.
PAYMENT: We pay $50 for the exclusive rights to each slogan that we
buy.
SUCCESS RATE: We want you to be realistic about the probabilities of
selling your slogans to us. We buy less than 1% of all the thousands of
ideas submitted to us.
BE CONCISE & ORIGINAL! GOOD LUCK!
Download our catalog from our website www.ephemera-inc.com. There will
be instructions to fill out a form and a link will be emailed to you.
For the print version, send $4 for our 36 page full color catalog to
see all that we do. Feel the magic...

Ghostwriter for Western Novel
I have what I believe is a rather unique, narrow neeed for some ghostwriting assistance. I am looking for descriptions of battle scenes between US soldiers and Native Americans in the 1870’s/1880’s or so for a novel I am writing. I have several general scenarios in mind, along with key characters. But they need not follow a particular script – I can adapt materials to my own needs. Each scene or battle would be at least 10 pages, I would think, and could be much longer. Violence – of course – not a problem. Not looking to offend anyone, but also not looking for politicially correct fighting. Each side can claim its share of brutality.
Compensation: Per page. Negotiable.

Editor/ Monthy Contributor - KinkyZine (work from home)
This project is for a client who is just starting a new KinkyZine dedicated to women in power.
We're looking for open-minded individuals who can relate and are comfortable writing about this particular kink in several different areas of the mag. It is our client's wish to keep it light and foremost, fun.
Some examples of monthly entries will include:
Current event news of Powerful Women around the globe. (Eg.: I once read a headline of a female run society in China)
Astrology - monthly quips under the 12 astrological signs with a fun twist exemplifying women in power, guys who love to worship women.
Jokes - light banter, NOT the male bashing V.Solanis type stuff. We love men ;)
Erotic Stories - Fiction Dominatrix/men adoring strong women
Interviews of powerful women.
World Women's events.
Fetishes
Tools of the Trade
Shopping - Featuring one product monthly
Spirituality - Embracing the divinely feminine
boys who want to be girls - crossdressing, TV/TS
Comic Strip
Advice Column
ETC...
Ideally, we are looking for a very creative individual to put together this new zine each month. It must have variety and hold the interest of the readers to keep them coming back for more!
Eg: contests, games.
At this time, finding an editor/editrix is our ultimate goal, however, we will accept individual pieces for inclusion to the zine. All of the areas must be filled. You may be great in one particular area and we will welcome that contribution.
The ideal candidate will submit the zine in raw form on the 15th each month, be highly creative, work entirely on their own remotely and is preferably a little kinky, hip and alternative in their writing. Either a strong lady or a guy who loves and appreciates the feminine divine power who embraces strong Women would work well as the editor of this project.
Individual contributions by writers in any of the above mentioned areas are also due on the 15th of each month.
If this is something you can swing and have interest in either as the managing editor or as a monthly contributor, we'd love to hear from you to discuss your creative ideas for the mag as well as compensation.
Job location is Remote
Compensation: Monthly via epassporte or paypal
