Children's Writing Pro needed 5c/word
Dear ghost writer,
I am a tiny, tiny, tiny publisher helping to launch independent children's books. Unfortunately, my clients are often terrible writers. I need someone who can rewrite these stories with proper grammar and at a consistent reading level. It is important that the plot, pacing and length stay the same. I only need the sentences or paragraphs rewritten. Some of these are in rhyming verse so you'll need to be a good poet too.
Pay is 5 cents per word and the work is sporadic. Perhaps 1-2 jobs per month. No credit will be given in the books.
Please do not send me an email unless you have children's writing experience and a college degree in writing/english. If you have these requirements then please paste your resume into the body of your email. No attachments will be opened.
I encourage you to repost this ad on writing websites/publications. Since I am only a one-man company I cannot respond to everyone. There just isn't enough time in the day. Last time I posted an ad like this I got over 2000 responses.
Thanks,
D.P.

Features
We typically publish one feature per month. Features run between 1000 and 1500 words and range from investigative pieces to narratives to essays to memoirs. Your story may be light or heavy, social or political in nature. Most importantly, your story must engage the reader in some unique way. Features contain numerous sources, quotes and points of view on a single topic. Paid.
Departments
Petsmo departments vary with each issue, and include such topics as Pet Tech, Health, Travel, Monkey Business, Celebrity Pets, Working Pets and The Greatest Fish Tale Ever. These stories range from 400 to 600 words, and require at least two sources from industry professionals such as veterinarians and officers from pets associations. Your story must be current and illuminating. Paid.
Columns
Petsmo publishes several columns, including Petstrology, Vets & Pets and Trainer Talk. We are currently seeking a veterinarian and an obedience trainer for the latter two columns. Remuneration is negotiable.
Letters and Pet Peeves
These are letters to the editor either commenting on stories we have published or expressing your opinion (your peeves) on a pet related subject. Not Paid.
Photojournalism Essays
Photographers are invited to submit their work for inclusion on Petsmo.com. Photo essays should be a series of photographs on a particular theme and may or may not contain accompanying copy. Paid.
Smiling Dogs
Petsmo also invites amateur photographers and professionals alike to submit photography for our Smiling Dogs page (photos of smiling pets) as well as unique and quality photographs for publication throughout our web site. These are usually not paid.

How to Post Articles:
This information is for all freelance writers who have submitted, or plan to submit stories, either paid or not, to Petsmo.com.
Once you have received approval for your story from an editor and have completed the story, you will have to post it to the site for an editor to edit. Here’s how:
1. Set up a user profile
Go to www.petsmo.com/home.asp. Once there, choose an appropriate city for yourself. Now you’ll need to set up a user profile.
2. Enter Your Article
Click on the tab that says “Magazine”. Once you are on the Magazine page, click on “Post New”. Now you are going to enter your story. Here are a couple important details about this process:
Category (column): Just pick the most appropriate one.
Headline: Give your story an appropriate headline. (I may change it, slightly)
Headline Date: (The date of your posting)
Start-End Date: Don’t worry about this one.
Summary: Just enter a short summary of your story, IE. “Veterinarians warn that exotic plants can be harmful, even deadly to pets.” – Short and sweet.
Keywords: Enter a few key words from your story. Google uses this to find stories, so this way you’ll be found by millions of pet owners.
City: Enter “All”, for now.
Article: This is probably the most important part. You need to enter a plain text document here, otherwise you’ll likely end up with some unexpected foreign characters in your story. If you don’t know how to do this, it’s easy:
1. In Microsoft Word, or whatever word processor you use, open your story.
2. In the File menu, press “Save As”.
3. In the “Save as Type” menu, select TXT or text.
4. Now save the document.
Now you copy the text from your document into the “Article” field on the “post new” page.
If you have a picture for your story, this is where you upload it. If not, we will add one.
Now click on the “submit” button. At this point your story will be edited by Petsmo editors and published to the site within a day or two.
Once that’s done, you’ll want to get paid. Here’s how: Send an email to
info@3ccreative.ca. Make sure it includes:
1. Your Name
2. Date
3. Address
4. Email Address
5. Phone Number
6. Fax Number
7. The title of the story you wrote
8. Number of words
Notes:
Story length
Story length is important. If you are assigned 500 words, please keep the story within 50 words either side of that. Plan your story with that in mind. Writers who successfully complete a story of that length will be assigned longer stories in the future.
Please send any questions you have to info@3ccreative.ca

Online Content Writers Wanted for Multiple Subjects
We're a web-publisher looking for multiple subjects. We need writers to create pieces that can be of real value for a reader (not content spam).
We've been purchasing rights to non-fiction pieces that writers still have rights to, so long as they are not on the web now. Travel, tech, health, exercise, social issues, Finance, auto,...and just about everything else.
Pay is generally anywhere between $10-$75. Some tips:
High paying content is something which people search for often, but is not easily found on the web. For instance, “How-To” articles on computer maintenance and home improvement, or explanatory articles on finance, mortgages and credit.
Including photos will get you more money for the content, especially for travel and those accompanying step-by-step how-to articles.
All contributors are automatically given their own writer's page.
Check it out.
