In early 2001, I decided to read Lord of the Rings for the first time in preparation for seeing the first movie. I had made a feeble attempt years ago, but never finished it. To my surprise, I quite enjoyed the books this time around. For those interested, you can find my online reports at Reading Lord of the Rings - A Final Attempt.

In preparation for the second movie, I've decided to read The Hobbit and reread Lord of the Rings. I'm curious to see how well everything ties together now, in context with my first reading of LOTR and having seen the first movie.
