Ooo-cha!

Author: Colleen Sydor

Annick Press, 1999
ISBN 1-55037-604-7
A spoof of the classic Little Red Riding Hood theme, this tale features a
fearless young girl Emily, who is perhaps a little too preoccupied with
table manners. She is happily skipping through the forest when a fierce
tiger demands a piece of her seven layer chocolate cake with triple fudge
icing. But instead of saying please, he bares his teeth and waves his
claws. Emily is outraged and, armed withe her good witch wand and the magic
word "Ooo-cha!" , she turns him into a tiger lily. Other rude, wild animals
that approach her fare no better.
On the other side of the Wild, Wild Forest is Great Granny Fanny's house.
Arriving with an entire bouquet of wildflowers, all acquired in the
above-mentioned fashion, Emily discovers The Three Little Pigs have captured
and tied up her Granny, for they too are out to capture Emily's basket of
goodies. Have no fear, for resourceful Emily sends them packing, pursued by
the newly released (Aaa-choo!) gaggle of wild, hungry beasts.
