School Visit Information
My presentation focus: Making Picture Books (title may vary slightly, depending on the audience)
Through slides, original artwork, Q&A and interactive drawing demonstrations, I will show the process involved in creating the artwork for my projects.
I am available for presentation workshops for JK-8, high school and adults.
The following are preparation tips I give to schools who have booked me
for a visit:
- During each full day, I will speak to two (2) groups of children with no more than one hundred and twenty (120) students in each group. Please supply a microphone if sessions are over 60 students.
- Each session will be approximately 45 minutes in length (unless otherwise discussed).
- The students should be supervised by appropriate personnel.
- Videotaping is NOT permitted.
- Please limit children requesting autographs to those with a copy of my books or an autograph book, so that time is not wasted signing scraps of paper which will be quickly lost. A handout with a sketch and autograph will be available for photocopying if desired.
- If you are outside Metro Toronto, please send me a map or directions to help me locate you.

Presentation information
Note: While I am prepared to speak to children of any age, the spread in age of the children in each group should be minimal, so that the presentation can be geared to the interests of each group.
I will need:
- long extension cord for my projector
- table or cart for my projector
- screen
- a room that can be significantly darkened to present in--gym is great
- flipchart with solid back to draw on
- flipchart paper--lined is fine.
- a table to display 4 or 5 books
